IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD

Make a Difference in Our Community Today

The Inzeku Education Foundation is based in the remote village of Irechelo, in Kakamega County, Kenya. It was created to provide basic necessities to children living in poverty, with the larger goal of providing for their education. The basic necessities we provide include uniforms, school fees, books, funds for medical expenses, and most importantly, food. Most of the children we help are orphans. The idea was conceived over dinner with a group of friends from Italy in 2016. These friends sponsored the first seven children in December of 2016. The foundation’s work officially started the following month.

Cover Tuition Fees, Books, Shoes and School Uniforms

For $100, you can provide the first few steps towards educating a child by enabling the child to have one piece of school uniform, 1 pair of shoes, needed school books and tuition fee  for the whole year in a government institution

Food

Children can’t learn on an empty stomach. Most of the children we help are orphans living with guardians who cannot provide them with a balanced diet. You can donate any amount to a food kitty, and help the children concentrate on their studies without being distracted by hunger.

Medical Expenses

Our medical program funds the treatment of any child in the project who needs medical assistance. You can donate any amount to our medical kitty. We also welcome any medical supplies you wish to donate to our local dispensary, which benefits the children and the community at large.

Supplementary Pair of Uniform

For $50, you can provide an extra uniform for a child. If your budget allows, you might choose to sponsor multiple children in this way.

School Desks

Our 31 children are in 6 different schools with limited sitting desks. You can decide to support all or part of the 6 schools by donating desks to them through our project. One desk costs $ 15.ln July  this year one sponsor donated 150 desks and we divided equally among the 6 schools.

Water

As we all know, water is life; Most of not all the schools our children go to have a water crisis. Access to clean drinking, cooking and cleaning water is a challenge due to broken pumps, piping or no water source at all. We are requesting for your support in repairing the school pumps, piping or better still installation of borehole systems for the schools to ensure each and every child has access to clean water for their everyday consumption. This will greatly improve the childrens sanitation, health and give them time to study.

STEPHEN’S STORY - He is 15 yrs old and in grade 7. He lost his father and his mother left him with his old grand parents. His grandfather is blind and his grand mother is too old to do anything. Stephen has to do everything for his grand parents including finding food all while trying to attend school. 👕One day we found his uniforms very dirty and we asked him why? He has not washed them for a full week, she has no soap to wash them & he has no time to go get 💧water from the river since when he gets home he has to look for an evening job from neighbors in order to get food for himself and his grandparents. 🥗The little water that is in the house he uses to prepare the food he gets since he cames home late. Sometimes he does not go to school so that he can get a job to get money to feed his grandparents. God bless our Stephen, forced to grow up very fast. 🙏🏿
